September 11, 2001 is a day to remember.
Twin Towers, Pentagon, and an unfortunate field
all impaled with jetliner planes.
Debris, blood, ash, and papers
were all the eye could see.
News stations receiving report of the attacks.
Playback after playbacks of those
devastating video clips that will permanently linger
in our minds.
Families, friends, work colleagues, new acquaintances
all died that horrendous day.
Firefighters, policemen, EMTs, and volunteers
all risked their lives
to try and save another.
Most didn’t make it out alive,
but they died with honor and will
never be forgotten.
People had feelings about the planes,
so they didn’t board and later realized
fate had stepped in.
Al Qaeda had more plans…
They would have destroyed
our entire country if given the chance.
One sick minded man who trained the radicals
that high jacked the planes
to leave our nation so distraught.
Young men and women sent off to war,
leaving their families with the thought
of them possibly not returning.
It is still happening today,
the unannounced threats, living uneasy, and the War on Terror.
Some days will never be forgotten,
and this is one.
We will tell our children about
those tall buildings in New York City,
that 5 sided building in Arlington County, Virginia,
and all the innocent people who lost their lives
because of that radical group
from the Middle East.
Despite differences in beliefs,
our country was brought together
to grieve these horrific attacks.
September 11, 2001 is a day to remember… Forever.
Excellent work.
